MEET Margarita

Mayor of the City of Norwalk

Margarita Rios, a lifelong Norwalk resident, has dedicated her career to improving the city she loves. From serving two decades in law enforcement to being the first Latina elected to the Norwalk City Council since 1992, Margarita has been a champion for public safety, education, and economic growth. She’s led efforts to strengthen community policing, revitalized local parks through the Parks Master Plan, and spearheaded the city’s Economic Development Plan, bringing new businesses and opportunities to underserved areas. With a strong focus on sustainability, affordable housing, and infrastructure improvements, Margarita is committed to building a brighter future for Norwalk.
